Badge number inaccurate

Whenever I receive 1 new message, the badge on the Textie icon shows 2. This issue started about a week ago. (Prior to that, things worked as expected.)
Any idea what might cause this?

    Hi Jason--

Thanks for taking the time to post. There are still a couple edge cases that can cause the badge to get out of sync; we're working on the problem. There is a failsafe mechanism, however, that should catch and correct the problem after two days; is it still messed up? May I ask what device type and OS you have? Much appreciated.

Yep, I'm still seeing the issue. It's been over a week. I've got an iPhone 4 running 4.0.2. I reinstalled Textie but to no avail.

A little more detail on the issue:
    1. I run Textie and clear any badges, then return to the iPhone home screen
    2. First new message I get produces a badge with the number 2 on the Textie icon
    3. Second new message I get produces a badge with the number 3 on the Textie icon
    4. Third new message produces a badge with the number 4, and so on...

This issue started Aug 17 and stopped occurring Aug 30.

I'm a little bummed this thread was made invisible to other users and support hasn't responded to it in a week. I want to like you folks, but this doesn't seem like the greatest support practice.

    Hi Jason,

Thanks for pinging us. I must have mis-clicked something, because I'm not sure how this got marked private. In general, we only change threads to private when we need to get personal information like email addresses and phone numbers to help solve a problem. Making the thread public again.

As for an update: The various edge cases that can cause the problem are still being addressed and our failsafe is being reviewed-- it should have kicked in faster for you. We're also busy trying to push out a new release. :)
