Mac app?
This is going to be a weird question, and many may not see the point. Considering how versatile Textie is, in that it doesn't require a phone contract and works over the internet, would a mac app be viable? Typing texts with a full size keyboard would be great, plus when I'm on my laptop and haven't got/aren't looking at my iPhone/iPod, I still know that someone has sent me a message, and can reply to it. This may be getting closer to Twitter-like functionality (cross platform, go anywhere short messages) but the MMS-like functionality and push to iPhones & iPods is great!

I think this is not remotely a weird question. After downing and trying Textie (very very nice experience) the first use idea that came to me was, how can I send and receive SMS's from my Mac. I've looked around the Google and not seen anything free or elegant. I suppose I could use Ichat, but Ichat is one of the reasons I have never been interested SMS, along with not wanting to pay AT&T ridiculous SMS charges.
So are there any good solutions out there?

Thanks for the compliments :) We aren't ready to announce anything for the Mac yet.
In the mean time, did you know you can type a U.S. phone number into iChat? In the File Menu, there is "Send SMS".
